- Length varies by country: 15 chars (Norway) to 34 chars max
- Structure:
CC(2-letter country) +NN(2-digit checksum) + BBAN (country-specific bank+account) - The MOD-97 algorithm: move first 4 chars to end, convert letters to digits (A=10, B=11,..., Z=35), the resulting big number mod 97 should equal 1
